Job Overview
First external accounting and finance hire in a fast-growing private equity-backed (Shore Capital) organization reporting directly to the CFO. Excellent opportunity to be a key contributor and shape the accounting and finance foundation as the business scales to $100M and beyond

In year 1, this role will focus primarily on building process and executing the accounting function (50%), supporting acquisition integration and systems improvement (30%), and contributing to financial planning and analysis (20%)

Job Responsibilities
  • Accounting Responsibilities (50% of candidates time in year 1)
    • Own and continuously improve the monthly close process and control environment
    • Prepare and review account reconciliations
    • Ensure timely, accurate billing and support improvements in the order-to-cash process
    • Lead audit prep and tax support with external CPA firm
    • Become the NetSuite subject matter expert
  • Integration Responsibilities (30% of candidate time in year 1)
    • Support accounting integration for acquired entities (people, process, and systems)
    • Convert acquired companies from cash to accrual accounting
    • Oversee onboarding to NetSuite, Ramp, and other tools
    • Coordinate third-party work on opening balance sheets and valuations
  • Finance (30% of candidate time in year 1)
    • Own the monthly financial package process and initial variance analysis
    • Support annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and monthly performance reviews
    • Build and maintain key financial and operational KPIs
    • Perform ad hoc analysis to support decision-making and M&A evaluation

Qualifications
  • 4–8+ years of accounting or finance experience
  • CPA is strongly preferred
  • Prior experience working in NetSuite strongly preferred
  • Experience in private equity-backed or fast-growth businesses is a plus
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with ability to create financial models and reconciliations
  • M&A and integration experience will be helpful in the role
